This is a late set of weeknotes, so I’ll be brief.
Here’s a summary:
- I pushed the Working with GenAI course booking through. 7 of us will join Content Design London’s course in the new year. I think this will be great. The course description seems to offer a more humanistic and real-world approach to AI. It could help us think more meanigfully about our workflows in the future, including when to – and not to – involve AI. Making sure everyone is available, doing all the admin (and I mean so much admin) was a lot of work. Dani was amazing helping with this.
- I prepared for Monday’s lunch and learn
- Content Design Cymru community: I prepared for next week’s community of practice and future planning, pair writing comms with Gem, inviting people to the Feb F2F
- I planned for my talk at the Student Loans Company’s user-centred design community next Wednesday
- I did some thinking for the Welsh and tech session in a couple of weeks
- I supported Liam/Adrián with some service pattern work (which got me thinking about workflows for bilingual content)
Also, I had to make 2 annoying trips to the bank to prove who I am. Thanks, Lloyds Bank.
Last week, I promised to share some more writing. It is on my list, I promise. Christmas is approaching so fast, though.
My highlight was featuring in an edition of #FixtheForms by Caroline Jarrett. This is bucket list stuff. I mentioned an 88-page pdf we got sent from the local authority to apply for a reception place at school. Did I read it? No. Did I apply? Yes, in about 4 minutes. The form was not good, though.
That’s it. That’s all you get this week.
